Leaving the office … now!

I am also taking home a bunch of Craigslist ads for roomies. Yes, I still want to move by the end of this summer. Although I don’t know if I will actually be able to do it, since I have grown rather fond of my tiny shack of a studio.

There are two big birthdays this weekend, we’re going dancing in Sac Town on Saturday and I have to present five photographs for my digital photography class on Monday. Hmm hmm, I only have one so far, and I will probably re-shoot it since my fingernails were not painted. (I am very particular.) I kind of have a theme mapped out, but as it develops it can go anywhere.

Also, I have traffic school. Boo.

A few months ago I visited the Legion of Honor to see a photography exhibit. As I was leaving, a man panned his camera with me. I stared him down a bit but let him take the shot. This was extremely rare for me, as I do not like other people taking my photograph.

Yesterday I thought of this moment randomly, and now I am interested to see how the photo turned out. I am currently stalking myself on Flickr.

If you see a picture of a little Asian woman in a pink and purple Hawaiian-print dress and shiny orange heels at the Legion of Honor, please let me know. pmpabalan at hotmail dot com.

I just bought a new camera!

It should arrive in two weeks.

Coincidentally, today was the first day of six months’ worth of peanut butter-and-jelly-sandwich lunches. Hurrah!

I do not often do this, but these medium format photos are all really amazing, so I want you to have a look at the photography of Tokyo based Toshiya Watanabe. I could add any other picture to my favorites, but this one above I like the most.
This was shot on film with a Mamiya. Check out Watanabe’s other work by clicking the photo above. I am also growing fond of the square format.

I hope my downstairs neighbor

I hope my downstairs neighbor didn’t move out due to my Disney soundtracks on cleaning days.
